NORTH EAST, MD
North East is a small town at the top of the Chesapeake Bay, just a few minutes from the wedding Venue. It has a charming Main Street that we highly recommend exploring, plus lots of opportunities to get close to (or into) the water!
Activities
- Chesapeake Bay Golf Club (2 miles from wedding venue)
- Turkey Point Lighthouse (1.9 mile walking trail (each way) in Elk Neck State Park
- Local Vineyard & Wine Tasting (call ahead for the vineyard, walk-ins welcome at the tasting room!)
- Antiquing on Main Street!
- Kayaking with Bay Venture Outfitters
- Horseback riding and Bed & Breakfast at Fair Wind Stables
- Need to work out a little frustration? Perhaps paintball is the answer!
- How much do you love duck decoys? Find out at the Upper Bay Museum!
- Catch some (occasionally raucous) live music and a great sunset at the Nauti Goose!

- Axe Throwing at Urban Axes (our friends own the place!)
- Mutter Museum of medical oddities (not for the faint of heart!)
- Magic Gardens (famous mirror and mosaic sculpture garden)
- Shofuso Japanese Garden (a taste of our second home)
- Please Touch Museum (especially good for the kids!)
- The Barnes Foundation (A unique art gallery)
- The Philadelphia Museum of Art (many, many, many adventures started here)
- Elfreth’s Alley (our nations’ oldest residential street)
Food
- Monk’s Café (Trappist Brewpub with best muscles in the city!)
- Gran Caffe la A’quilla (Best gelato and cappuccino in the city!)
- Sonny's (Our favorite cheesesteak in Philly!)
- Pizzeria Beddia (they only make 40 per night, so get there early!)
- Spread Bagelry (Montreal-style, wood-oven bagels in our 'hood!)
- Butcher Bar (Don't miss the skillet cookie for dessert!)
- The House of Cheese! (Need we say more?)
BALTIMORE, MD
For those who want to venture a bit further south....
- Awesome spot for eating Muscles!
- One of the wackiest art museums we know!
